Ok ..so now I spent the day wondering what I should wear ..I knew I wanted to wear something beautiful and I wanted to be noticed when I arrived ...Soooo I decided to wear this ever so beautiful outfit from the Wizard Of Oz ... I always loved this beautiful witch and would watch the move just to see her beautiful, beautiful dress ...

I know all eyes will be on me when I make my "big entrance".

EVERYTHING YOU'VE EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT "ME"

This is a picture of me and Joe that he put on my computer on our anniversary three days ago.

Well I was tagged by Sue at Sullivan Murphy to write 6 things about myself so that you can get to know me better ...so here goes ... ( this should be interesting) ...or maybe not ... we'll see.

#1 ... My name is Elizabeth but I have always been called Betty ... my Mother says she named me Elizabeth so she could call me Betty .. . hmmm? ... so why didn't she just name me Betty? ...lol
#2 ... I am the middle child of 5 ..two older brothers and one younger sister and one younger brother ... The saddest day of my life is when my oldest brother Jim died 10 years ago ...it seems like yesterday.
#3... I am married to Joe and we have a combined family of 5 kids and 15 grandkids and 5 1/2 great grandkids ...Our family is pretty close and we spend a lot of time together ..with a family as big as ours there's always something to celebrate and we're big party givers ... Actually if we get together for dinner it's like a party cuz there are always at least 8 to 10 of us ..Our bigger parties are usually theme parties and the gals in the family have fun thinking up things to make for decorations and decorating ... we get lots of ideas from your blogs ...so thanks ... when we have a wedding in the family we usually do most of the work putting them together and cleaning up afterwards ... most of the grand-kids are either married or collage age except for one high school girl and a 6 year old caboose named Frankie ... then of course there are all the great grand-babies who just seem to keep coming along ... and it's great!
#4.....I am a home body and have always loved decorating and digging in the dirt ... I am not organized and try my best to be but it just doesn't work for me ...I love to collect things of all kinds and I pride myself in having anything my kids or grandkids need for projects ...I tell them that if you can't find it in my attic then you probably don't need it ....My attic / sewing / craft room is either neat and orderly or a huge mess ...like it is right now...but I can usually find anything you need ... I guess you'd say I have "organized clutter" ... I really do try to purge and organize my life ...but it just doesn't work for me... I love my junk!
#5 ... I don't care to much about fancy cloths but I do wish I did when it comes time to go out .. I'd rather spend my time and money on yard sale-ing, thrift stores or antique shops ... I love yard sale-ing with my three daughters and it's great that we have different tastes ... well, except for one who could move into my house and love most everything in it.
#6 ... My Mom came to live with us over 20 years ago 5 years after my father died ... she lives in her own little cottage right outside my back door .. she was young and active when she moved in but now she is almost 90 (next month) and so now I am her care giver ... I am blessed to have her here with us and I'm also blessed to be a home body cuz she likes me to stay close by. ... and so I guess that's about it ...
My name is Betty ... I have a husband ... we have 5 kids .. 15 grand kids .. 5 1/2 great grand kids ... a 90 year old Mama ... and a dog named Chepe ... I live in house that is probably too big for us now that it's just the two of us ...but I still love the house even after almost 40 years ... I garden, but fake it ... but I guess it's OK cuz I can grow flowers ... I'm not a seamstress ...but I fake it ...but I guess it's OK cuz I can make most things I try to make with a sewing machine ...I'm not an artist ..but I guess it's OK ..cuz when I'm in the mood I will paint a picture ... I'm definitely not a musician and can't carry a tune to save my life ..but I guess it's OK cuz when I'm in the mood I can sit and play "with the piano" and entertain myself ...as long as no one is listening ... I'm not a great house keeper ( and NO, finger prints don't bother me ) ...but it's OK cuz I can fake it and make my home look nice for company ... but I do love to decorate, set the tables ...inside and in the patios ... and as my Mom calls it ...I love to "play house"....etc. ... But "Yes" ..."I AM A MOM AND A GRANDMA" ... and that's the best part of my life.

GRADUATION LEI

Tina taught me how to make these money leis a few years ago .

It's a fun way to give money to the graduates or for birthdays or even for a "money dance" at a wedding ... made in the right colors.

Some schools do not let the graduates wear them during the ceremony but ours does and our school colors are orange and grey... So this one's for Meagann. :^)

Two more days to go.

This is where the over two thousand riders sleep ...but last night they slept "in very wet tents" ... :^(
They have closed the road on them ..it's too dangerous for them ...so they are being bussed into Ventura .. that is their last stop before they ride into LA "tomorrow". .... These are some tired and wet people.... but dedicated. :^)

Cute story on this toy cash register ...I bought it for $1.00 at a yard sale ..already starting to rust ..I put it out in the yard ..My 90 year old Mom sees it and takes it into her house ..because "it's getting ruined" she says ... lol ... to me it's just starting to look good ...so I had to sneak it out of her house to plant the ivy in it and I put it on a porch where she won't see it or she'll try to "save it again". :^)

Tina's Bunnies

My daughter Tina has this cute bunny hutch in her garden and I fell in love with it.

It's filled with her collections of ceramic bunnies.

And now I am soo excited because my son had an empty hutch in his yard and "gave it to me"! ... I can't wait to fill mine up with bunnies ...I told Tina she'd better put a lock on hers because some of her bunnies might hop over to my house. :^)
