*MERRY CHRISTMAS*

Well, it's Christmas Day and almost time to pack up all the decorations and take them up to the attic with all the decorations that never made it down this year ..It's been a busy year for me and not much time for play ..but I do find time to have my morning coffee and visit with you every morning..I may not always have time to comment, but I'm always so impressed and so inspired by all of your beautiful homes and all of your wonderful ideas... I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year full of love, laughter and good health. ♥

Does anyone have the 'recipe' for lavender wands?

I made these a couple years ago but I don't remember how to make them. :^(

Asking for prayers.

We just got my Mom home from a 5 day stay in the hospital after a fall... I spent the 5 days with her because she is so used to me being with her that I could not leave her .. The doctor wanted to send her to a nursing home from the hospital but we brought her home and hopefully we can care for her here at home and I think with the help of the physical therapist and the home nurses she can stay here with us and her little dog Petunia...She is 91 years old. .. Please keep her in your prayers. ♥

Thanksgiving dishes

I found these dishes at a yard sale many years ago ..

Of course I had to 'rescue' them even though I didn't need them. The set is not complete but there's tons of them

including serving platters and bowls of all sizes.
Now we call them our "Thanksgiving dishes".
I also love using them for Easter with yellow and purple napkins.

To me they look like spring ..but the colors are perfect for fall.

This bird house has seen it's last bird ..but I kept it up for Halloween
It made a great 'bat house'.

HALLOWEEN PROJECT

I love Halloween ...

maybe it's because it's a good excuse to have a party ...

and not have to buy gifts ...

I'll be using these as hostess gifts for my

Witches Brew Garden Party ...

Now I only have to make about 15 more!





These are my first Halloween crafts that I've started working on.

BEFORE AND AFTER

I was soo ready for this nasty old carpet to go

and kept putting off cleaning it as you can see.

Thanks to my grand daughter Natalie, our daughter Tina and her husband Mark it finally got done ... Joe and I could not have done it alone ..Thanks so much guys. :^)
So this is what was under the carpet ...I think it has been covered for 95 years... Of course there were swirls of glue on the wood where they had glued the padding down that had to be removed .. then we just cleaned it with wood floor cleaner .. and lastly, I put Johnson's Paste Wax on it and buffed it with my almost 50 year old buffer.
I love the new floor and it was worth all the work ..
even though today I feel like I've been hit by a truck ...LOL

"IT'S FALL"!!

I love fall and everything that comes with it.

But since I have not started decorating for fall ...

I thought I'd share one of my favorite little friends.

Funny how such a little thing like my friend Humpty can add a smile to our day.

Chickens and Ivy .. love them both.

I have not posted anything for a while cuz things got so crazy in my family ..some good, some not so good .. way to much to write about .. The good thing is that I got to do a little yard sale-ing and one of my "prizes" is this ivy chicken that I put in my laundry room .. I also got the tin pocket on the wall and the cherry garland.. I loved them all and it made my day ...funny how some people's junk can make you so happy. :^)

Billy & Joshua go to Europe

I'm very excited for my grandson Joshua and his long time friend Billy .. They leave to Europe this Monday for a trip of a life time...Of course I'm a little nervous for them too ..But I guess that's part of being a Grandma.

Life gone crazy!

Hi all my blogging pals ... I have not posted for a while cuz my life got so crazy .. My Mom just celebrated her 91st birthday ... family from out of town ( always fun) .. impromptu party at my house .. my husband got hit by a car walking to the bank ... I got an ambulance ride to the hospital with him and a couple hours in the ER.. ( he's banged up but doing fine) .. back to the ER at 2:00am the same night with my Mom cuz she had food stuck in her esophagus .. "11 hours" in the ER waiting for a specialist to come from the next town to remove the food .. (she is also doing better ) .. then taking care of my Mom trying to get her stronger and wondering what I can feed her ...etc. ... But things seem to be calming down now ... thank God! ...So now I'm just busy taking care of Mom and trying to get my gardens back in some kind of shape since I've had to neglect everything .. I've started a "support group" with a few friends who take care of their elderly parents and that really helps .. It's a fun group and we eat, have some wine and share our stories and ideas ... It's really helpful and fun to have people over since it's hard for me to get away ...so things are looking up .. and again I say "Thank God"! ♥
