Saint Patrick's Day

I wish I could take the credit for this cute idea ...

but of course I saw something like this on line.

The one I saw was not for Saint Patrick's Day

but I thought I could make it work.
These are the things I used.

I didn't have a stencil to make the shamrocks so I stuck one of these chair pad things to the end of a pencil ... I don't have a close up of the "Shamrocks" to show you ..but I just dipped the little pad in paint and made three dots and a stem .... You get the picture. :^)
I cut the big "Shamrock" out of the plastic yogurt lid.

My grandson Frankie made the cup cakes ... We made this as a hostess gift to take to his mom's house ...She makes corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day every year ... Yummy

You never know how your day will turn out when you wake up in the morning ... You know what they say ..

."Life is what happens while we're busy making plans"

Today was a great example of this ... I've had a lot on my plate, to say the least for the past couple of days .. but I was still trying to get in the grove of Saint Patrick's Day ... I have to admit that my heart wasn't in it ...then Frankie stopped by with his dad and asked if he could stay and help make the cup cakes.. Of course I said yes. :^)

It was so much fun watching him work and to see how proud he was about what he was doing ... Besides, I learned so much from him today ...

Can you believe that Frankie and his friend almost caught a Leprechaun today! ...Really! .. He said his friend stuck his hand in a hole in the ground at school today and "something" pinched him ...so they knew for sure it had to be a Leprechaun! ... I also learned from Frankie that Leprechauns are really very nice and that they would never embarrass anyone...
But ...they are very "tricky"

It's amazing how much you can learn from a 7 year old ..

and it's also amazing how a 7 year old can brighten even the glummest day.

My Easter Table

I just realized that everything on this table

is from a yard sale ...I love that!

I love these little plates and little tea cups ...

I'm sad to say that I lost one of the cups in our big earthquake a few years ago. :^(

This is what the table looks like today ..

but of course it will change from day to day between now and Easter.

Our "try" at making Easter Baskets.

My daughter Tina and I were sooooo excited when we saw the "beautiful little baskets that Rhea made over at Sweet n Shabby Roses ... We could hardly wait to whip up 'a few' to give away as gifts..

Well ...after 4 1/2 hours and two glasses of wine

.. this is all we made!!

"Yes"... we know ...

They are not a bit as pretty as Rhea's ... but we did have a lot of fun 'trying' to make them ... and

"no" there will be no basket Easter gifts from us..lol

Before and Afters

Well ...because of my friends in "blog land" ... I'm on a roll of staining 'everything' I find with coffee ... first the white flowers and then these little guys I found at the Dollar Tree .. There was a time I wanted everything sparkling white ...but now I want everything to look "O-L-D" ....lol

Darn! ...I forgot to take a picture of the chick and I already gave it away ..Oh well ..it looks pretty much like the bunny ..."O-L-D".

White Wednesday

I just had a birthday and my family showered me with beautiful flowers ... so I'm sharing these pretty pale pink roses ... my favorite color roses.. I know they're not quit white ..but 'almost' ... lol ...to say I am blessed with a wonderful family would be an understatement ... I am so very blessed.
