Hi all my blogging pals ... I have not posted for a while cuz my life got so crazy .. My Mom just celebrated her 91st birthday ... family from out of town ( always fun) .. impromptu party at my house .. my husband got hit by a car walking to the bank ... I got an ambulance ride to the hospital with him and a couple hours in the ER.. ( he's banged up but doing fine) .. back to the ER at 2:00am the same night with my Mom cuz she had food stuck in her esophagus .. "11 hours" in the ER waiting for a specialist to come from the next town to remove the food .. (she is also doing better ) .. then taking care of my Mom trying to get her stronger and wondering what I can feed her ...etc. ... But things seem to be calming down now ... thank God! ...So now I'm just busy taking care of Mom and trying to get my gardens back in some kind of shape since I've had to neglect everything .. I've started a "support group" with a few friends who take care of their elderly parents and that really helps .. It's a fun group and we eat, have some wine and share our stories and ideas ... It's really helpful and fun to have people over since it's hard for me to get away ...so things are looking up .. and again I say "Thank God"! ♥
Hi Betty, Glad to here you are all doing much better. And Happy Birthday to your mother...Julian
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness Betty, two trips to ER! I am so glad that your husband and mom are doing well after their medical crises. Happy belated birthday to your Mom for her 91st BD - How Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Mom! I am also glad to hear your loved ones are on the road to recovery. Scary about your husband. Poor pedestrians, they don't stand a chance against those big hunks of metal. Your Mom is very lucky to have you to care for her. I am sure she appreciates you very much!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens!!! When it rains, it pours. I hope everyone is doing much, much better these days. I can sympathize with the ER waiting- it can take forever and the docs and nurses often just ignore you. I went out into the hall on Mr. S's second visit and interrupted the 2 doctor's "chat". Turns out they were only waiting for test results and taking a break. That "break" was our waiting for 45 minutes to be seen. Sheesh- what is it with health care these days?
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself, my friend. hugs, Sue
