I want to thank Maryjane over at The Beehive Cottage
for posting her recipe for home made laundry soap..
I had such a fun 'play date' with my daughter Tina shopping for all the ingredients since we had never heard of a couple of them ...Then there was the hunt for the jars at all the thrift stores ...This soap is really fun to make and now I have a special little gift for my friends....I love this stuff and will never buy detergent again ... You've really got to try it.
And be sure to look around Maryjane's blog when you go over to get the recipe ...she is so talented and so inspiring.
Tina also printed up the labels for me ..I don't think you can read them but they say "Betty's Laundry Soap"
'one to two tbs. per load'
I made some detergent too, Betty. I have an HE washer so I had to make it into a liquid so it would be easier to dissolve. It's not too bad, but I think if I could use the mixture you made,it would have been easier. I have to shake it up an make sure I get a good distribution of liquid and soap before I put it in the wash. I went back to my old soap! LOL Glad you came by. You tickled my funny bone with your story of your mom and your hubs when she fell. I just couldn't help it. Poor thing- I know it must be difficult for you, you seem to be shouldering the majority of the burden of her care. Hang in there- you will be rewarded for your love and service, whether in this lifetime or the next! xo Sue
